Maryville Parks and Recreation is getting ready for the 2010 Youth Baseball/Softball program. Registration will be conducted through the 19th at the Maryville Community Center. Boys and girls age 5-16, age cut offs available at the Maryville Community Center. Parent volunteer coaches are needed. For more info contact the community center.
Wilcox United Methodist Church will serve all you can eat fish, chicken strips, salads and drinks on Saturday, March 13 at the church in Wilcox from 4:30-7.
SSM Hospice Trivia Night is back by popular demand! The Trivia Night will be held on Saturday, March 13 at the Maryville Community Center. Doors will open at 6:15 with questions starting at 7pm. Each year this event promises fun and lots of laughter and this year will be no different!! This event is a fundraiser for SSM Hospice and Home Care and ALL money raised will stay HERE in our community!!!
The American Legion Hall in Conception Jct. will have a Pancake Breakfast from 7-11:30 on Saturday, March 14. Cost is a free will donation to benefit the American Cancer Society.
Pickering Fish Fry, Sunday, March 14, from 11-1 in the Pickering Community Building. All proceeds go to the up keep of the Pickering Community Building. Your support is needed and very appreciated.
Community Blood Center will hold a blood drive on Wednesday, March 17 from 8-2:30 in the gym at Maryville Highschool.
Education majors and school districts are invited to the 2010 Education Expo from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 17, in Bearcat Arena on the Northwest campus. This career fair is conducted in a friendly, non-interview setting. Soon-to-graduate teacher candidates can present their resumes to school districts and talk about the district's immediate openings. The Education Expo also gives younger Northwest students a chance to learn more about the teaching profession and the career paths offered by the attending schools.

Paul Sunderman's Minneapolis Mowing Tractor Museum will be open Thursday, March 18 and Friday, March 19 from 9-4 and Saturday March 20 from 2-4 just 7 miles north of Clarinda on M63.
On March 18,19, and 20, 2010, there is a Hunter Education Class being offered to the public at the Northwest Technical School in Maryville. Preregistration is required by calling 660-582-8311. Seating is limited to the first fifty students. Students must attend all three sessions with times as follows: March 18 from 6pm to 9:30pm, March 19 from 6pm to 9:30pm, and March 20 from 8am to 4pm. Students must be eleven years or older to become certified with Hunter Safety. Certification is good in all fifty states!
The Ravenwood United Methodist Church will hold its annual fish fry on Friday, March 19, 2010 from 5:00 to 7:30 P.M. at the church fellowship hall in Ravenwood, Missouri. The menu will include fish, baked potatoes, baked sweet potatoes, cheesy potatoes, green beans, cole slaw, hot rolls, desserts and drinks. Prices are: adults, $8.00; children 6-12, $4.00 and preschool children eat free. The proceeds from the dinner will go to the mission and outreach of the church.
The Maryville Knights of Columbus will host a Fish Fry on Friday, March 19 from 5:00-7:00 PM at St. Gregory’s Parish Hall (333 South Davis). Breaded Catfish, a Baked Potato Bar, Baked Beans, Cole Slaw, Dessert and Drink will be served. Ticket prices are Adults: $7.00 in advance or $8.00 at the door; Children 6-12: $3.00; Kids 5 & under eat free. Advance tickets are available from any Knights of Columbus member. (Tickets purchased for the February 19 Fish Fry will be honored.)
The Maryville Branch of the America Association of University Women is sponsoring the Seventh Annual Opal Eckert Walk Saturday, March 20, in Bearcat Arena on the Northwest Missouri State University campus. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. and the walk starts at 9 a.m.
Clarinda Regional Health Center is hosting its annual Clarinda Community Health Fair, Saturday, March 20, 2010 at Hillside Missionary Church, South 16th Street, Clarinda, IA. The Health Fair is open to all interested in learning ways to improve their health and wellness. This year’s Health Fair will feature information on diabetes, exercise, weight control and nutrition programs, as well as information from local health care providers.

Deryk Degase Benefit Prime Rib Dinner and Auction hosted by Maryville Elks Lodge #760. The benefit will be held Sunday, March 21st at 4. Proceeds will be used to help with on-going medical expenses for 15 month old Deryk.

The Peer Support Line is now up and running in this area. The line is for people with and affected by mental illness and provides support, contact with others in similar situations, and understanding. The newly formed Maryville Bike club is hosting group rides every Saturday morning at 9:30 AM and Tuesday evenings at 5:45 PM. Both ride leave from Donaldson Westside Park. Riders of all levels welcome. Helmets are also strongly encouraged. For more information email here.
The Survivor Support Group meets monthly on the first Thursday from 6 PM to 7 PM at the Wesley Center located at 549 West Fourth St. in Maryville. All those whose lives have been touched by the tragedy of suicide are invited to come talk and share thoughts and feelings in a comfortable and confidential setting. The Northwest Opry featuring the Grand River Pickers will perform every Sunday at Movie Magic (214 West 3rd) from 2 PM to 5 PM. Walk on performers are welcome and there is also a snack bar and dance floor at the event. Everyone in the area is welcome to attend.

Sheridan Community Betterment Club hosts dances every fourth Saturday night of the month at the Sheridan School from 9 PM to 1 AM, with breakfast following. All proceeds will go to improvements and maintenance of the school building.
Temple Baptist Church holds "The Kings Kids Program" starting at 7 PM every Wednesday night. This is for children in grades 1 - 6 and includes playing games and learning about the bible.
